Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. Home visits are appropriate if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice.
If you think you might need a home visit you can help us by calling reception before 10.30am. Requests that come in later may be scheduled for the next day. Your GP will usually contact you to discuss your problem, to decide if a home visit is needed and how urgent it is.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP, or referred by the hospital after an admission. If you have recently had a baby you will also be visited at home by a midwife and then a health visitor.
