COVID VACCINATION INFORMATION

Autumn Booster Information:

 

Influenza Vaccines

We will be offering flu vaccines for pregnant patients and nasal flu vaccines for children aged 2-3 years old in September.

We will be offering flu vaccines to all eligible patients starting in October 2024.

I don't meet the eligibility for both vaccines, can I get a flu vaccine?

You are eligible for a flu vaccine if you are:

  • A household contact of people with immunosuppression
  • A main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill
  • Receiving carer's allowance

 

 

Covid Vaccines

We will be offering Covid vaccines for eligible patients starting in October 2024.

We unfortunately do not have an exact date for the arrival of these vaccines however we advise that you book into our flu clinics if eligible and if we have the Covid vaccine available, we will offer this at the same time.

I don't meet the eligibility for both vaccines, can I get a covid vaccine?

You are eligible for a covid vaccine if you are:

  • Over 16 with epilepsy
  • A patient who requires long term immunosuppressive treatments for Inflammatory Bowel Disease or Scleroderma
  • Someone with severe mental illness

 

 

Eligibility

You are eligible for a free flu and covid vaccine if you are:

  • Over 65 years old
  • Pregnant
  • Live in a care home

Over 16 with

  • Conditions that affect your breathing, such as asthma (needing a steroid inhaler or tablets), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cystic fibrosis
  • Heart conditions, such as coronary heart disease or heart failure
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Liver disease, such as cirrhosis or hepatitis
  • Some conditions that affect your brain or nerves, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy
  • Diabetes or Addison's disease
  • A weakened immune system due to a condition such as HIV or AIDS, or due to a treatment such as chemotherapy or steroid medicine
  • Problems with your spleen, such as sickle cell disease, or if you've had your spleen removed
  • A learning disability

Are very overweight – a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or above

 

Frontline health and social care workers, and staff working in care homes for older adults can get these vaccines through their employer.

You only need to book one appointment if you want both vaccines, we will offer you both at the same time.
