GP TEAM

Dr Donna Crisp

Dr Donna Crisp ( Senior Partner)

Having trained in the West Midlands I decided to move back to my home town in the Lake District. I initially did locums and then worked as a Salaried GP in Haverthwaite before joining Nutwood as a GP Partner in 2014. My interests include women’s health, child health, teaching and older age medicine.

When not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, fell walking, cycling, running and open water swimming when warm enough. My ultimate (and probably unrealistic) goal is to complete an iron man distance triathlon!

I joined the Practice as a GP Partner in 2016 having previously worked in various specialties in Manchester, North Cumbria, and New Zealand. I enjoy the variation that being a GP brings, particularly dealing with complex medical problems, women's health and paediatrics. I also have a keen interest in teaching, research and innovation.

Outside of work I love spending time with my young family, travelling, walking the fells, running, cycling and socialising with friends. I enjoy entering competitive races to keep me fit!

Having been born and raised in the Lake District, I returned after completing my medical degree and training in Yorkshire. I initially worked as a GP in Ulverston and then Kendal, before joining the Practice as a GP Partner in 2017. I wanted to be a GP for as long as I can remember, and enjoy the variety that it brings; my particular interests being health education, diabetes and the menopause.

I am married with a young son who certainly keeps me busy. When I am not chasing round after him I enjoy walking, cycling and running and have completed three marathons.

Having trained in Newcastle, I moved to Cumbria to train as a GP and aside from 2 years spent living and working in New Zealand, I have been here ever since. I have worked most recently in Kendal and joined Nutwood in 2020. I have a particular interest in child health, women’s health, and palliative care. I am also involved with the teaching of medical students at Lancaster University.

Outside of work I love spending time with my young family, particularly. I enjoy walking and cycling and have recently started Fell Running. I also enjoy music and singing and am trying to teach my daughter to play the piano!

Dr David Morris

I have been a qualified doctor since 1994, training in my hometown of Birmingham. After training in general acute medicine for 6 years, I moved into General Practice in 2000. I have been both a GP partner and freelance locum since then, until joining Nutwood Medical Centre in 2022.

I consider myself perhaps to be an old-fashioned doctor nowadays but I am glad to be able to bring a wealth of experience to an increasingly complex job.

I have a special interest in non-conventional medicine with training in a number of complementary therapies, with a particular interest in nutritional medicine.

Originally from Ulverston I went to study medicine in Lancaster. Following this I moved to Edinburgh to complete my GP training. I then worked as a locum and salaried GP in West Lothian. I decided to move back home in 2023 where I joined Nutwood as a salaried GP. Outside of work I have two young children to keep me busy and enjoy exploring the lakes when I can.

I joined the practice in September 2023. I've been a GP Partner in High Bentham and Ingleton for 20 years, having completed my GP Training In Milnthorpe in 2003. My strengths are care of the elderly, end of life care, complicated problems and adults with health vulnerabilities. I am involved in teaching, mentoring and assessing GPs in their final stages of training.

I have a beautiful daughter with whom I enjoy shopping and going to the theatre. My husband and I enjoy biking and running in the hills together.

I'm very much looking forward to getting to know the Practice Team and local population.

Having trained in the West Midlands, I then completed my GP training at Royal Preston Hospital. In 2020 we moved to the area to raise our three children in a more rural location.

I continued to develop my interest in dermatology, initially carrying out a fellowship and then subsequently gaining a diploma in practical dermatology, whilst developing my minor surgery skills. I joined Nutwood Practice in 2021 and alongside this I hold a role as a GP with a specialist interest within the South Lakes Dermatology group.

In my spare time I run a GCCF registered cattery, breeding and showing pedigree Maine Coon cats.
